The teams began their work in the late summer of 2023 and will report to the Board and
membership next summer (2024). Between now and then, each team is using survey results
and their own ingenuity to address four tasks:

 Define the scope of the work the team will address
 Conduct research needed to identify opportunities and challenges
 Identify low-cost, easy-to-do things in the short term
 Identify higher-cost, more complex things for the longer term

Halfway through the winter of 2023-24 the Beach and Pond Team was facing so much work they decided to form two separate teams, one for the Beach and another for the Pond. Research into beach access in the future became more complicated after the Northeast shoreline experienced three very damaging storms within a month. The question of beach access has become one of beach sustainability as well, a problem that every association along our shoreline is facing.

The Pond Team faced different challenges. There are many efforts already underway to improve water quality on Green Hill Pond. There was a great deal to learn to recommend which of these the GHCA would be wise to invest in.

AJ Emanuel and the four team leaders will meet with the Board in May of 2024 to present their initial findings and recommendations based on their work to date. The team leaders and AJ will then present their recommendations to the full membership at the June Members’ meeting.
