As the GHCA has grown over the years, the Association has taken on several community projects, including building tennis courts and creating the kayak launch and recreation area, among other things. Each of these has been done incrementally in response to creative thinking on the part of Association members. Looking back over the past two decades, the GHCA Board of Directors wondered what it would be like to think ahead more broadly about the future of the Association. In early 2022, the Board asked a small group of members – Peter Brash, A.J. Emanuel, Mary Ann Emanuel, Peter Jenny, and Mal O’Connor – to explore this idea to:
- Understand what GHCA members want to experience during time spent in Green Hill in the future.
- Determine how to make positive changes that can strengthen our members’ experience while maintaining the most important things.
- Recommend ideas and actions that help focus our resources in ways that continue to make Green Hill Beach the place we want to be for as much time as possible throughout the year.
We are fortunate to have many valuable resources in our community, including talented people and places where GHCA members enjoy time spent with family and friends:
- Recreation area (tennis, pickleball, bocce court areas, etc.)
- Beach access thanks to the Hill Association, having lost our beach to erosion
- Boat launch on Green Hill Pond
- Many diverse talents and capabilities that GHCA members bring to our community
