May 28th – Beach Cleanup was a great success!

The Green Hill community showed up in record numbers to participate in this year’s beach and neighborhood clean-up. The cloudy skies could not dampen the enthusiasm of the motivated team of volunteers who collected debris large and small. Thanks to everyone who showed up to keep our Green Hill clean! A special thanks to Mal O’Connor who kept us going with coffee and donuts, and to Pete Jackson for hauling away all the trash! See pictures from this event here.

July 3rd – Great turnout for Chalk Day!

It was a great sight to see so many children sharing their artistic talent with one another. Some of the drawings included a red, white, and blue tree, an ocean scene complete with fish, a blue dragon, and lots of fireworks! The morning wrapped up with a raffle drawing of 3 prizes won by Addie, Hayden, and Bowen. Thank you to all the kids who participated and the families who cheered them on. Check out photos of the event here to see even more masterpieces.
Special thanks to Dawn McCabe, Mary Ann Emmanuel, Massood Abolfazli and Tim O’Connor for helping to make this a fun and safe event for our Green Hill neighbors.

July 23rd – Porchfest

A record crowd of nearly 100 friends and neighbors gathered in the O’Connor’s backyard for a festive evening of lively music, snacks, and drinks. Folks young and old enjoyed the entertainment, which was anchored once again by Rik and Wendi Bourne. We had many first-time performers, including Dave Calabrese, Andrew and Laura Heyman, and Andy Harrell. Returning to the open mic were Rik and Wendi Bourne, Mal and Bonnie O’Connor, and Elwood Roberts. With so much talent and interest, we’re already looking forward to Porchfest 2023!

In addition to updates from a number of ongoing committees, the Annual Meeting will include a report back on the survey the Vision Team invited all members to respond to during July and a focus on the many ways GHCA members can get engaged, serve as officers and board members and become part of ongoing project teams. In addition, this is the meeting where new ideas and changes are voted on.
